How to Avoid Holiday Overwhelm
If you’re like me, you’re also feeling some kind of
energy buzzing in the air now that the holidays are coming.
It’s so easy to get swept in overwhelm during this time of
the year. You have to think about the perfect gifts to buy
the year. You have to think about the perfect gifts to buy
for everyone and you’re bombarded with so much holiday
promos, you have to prepare scrumptious yet
budget-friendly dinners, so many parties to attend, getting
ready for a long holiday vacation, PLUS the pressure that
the year is ending and still you’re not making enough
money. You are so tempted to just put everything aside and
just start anew next year. But you also did that last year
and nothing is different up to now. It’s time to make new
goals for the New Year and you notice you’re just making
the same goals again. Then you wonder, isn’t the holidays
supposed to be fun?
Yes the holidays are fun! It’s a time for family, giving
and love. Before you start getting caught up in overwhelm,
follow these 2 tips so you can truly enjoy the festivities.
follow these 2 tips so you can truly enjoy the festivities.
1.   Be still and listen to your heart. When you’re getting
that rush of overwhelm, just remember to pause. Be quiet, be
still and listen to the beating of your heart. You can put
your palm on top of chest so you can actually feel your
heart beat. Clear all thoughts and focus only to murmur in
your chest. Stay there as long as you can. Two to five
minutes at the least. This simple practice alone will calm
you and bring you to a peaceful place.
2.   Get support. If you are still kicking yourself for not
having enough discipline and focus to implement all the
stuff you put on paper or in your head, it’s time to get
support. Get a coach who can help you get things done. Most
businesses fail because they never got the support that will
point out their blind spots, help them overcome challenges
and point them in the right direction. You’ve tried doing
it on your own already, so it’s time to do it differently.
You can’t afford to have another year pass to learn to do
everything yourself. It’s time to help more people and
it’s time to make more m0’ney.
